About Us

The Organoids and Neuroscience Lab (ONLAB) at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Raipur is located in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (1st floor) and is led by Dr. Arindam Bit. The Organoids and Neuroscience Lab built based on an inherently interdisciplinary research approach supports a multidisciplinary team for conducting breakthrough research to meet recent clinical and social challenges. This laboratory is also heavily funded by seven externally funded projects. It offers an environment in laboratory condition where members can explore sciences with fun. The atmosphere facilitates interaction of the multi-disciplinary research team comprising of undergraduates students, post graduate students, research scholars, visiting intern fellows, national and international collaborators and faculties of different disciplines to reveal the emerging technologies and take the responsibility to disseminate the flavour of  outcomes of science forward.

This lab focuses on two key issues: Organoid science, and Cognitive Neuroscience.

Organoid science section deals with development of miniaturized tissue-specific scaffold (by exploring various natural sources of collagen and chitosan extracts) - integrating it on custom designed microfluidic platform - establishment of sustainable micro environment for integrated tissue regeneration - with an objective to understand the immune response of the developed tissue constructs to various co-factors including pharmaceutical drugs, and also to evolve with development of point-of-care medical devices.

On the other hand, Cognitive Neuroscience section aims to investigate both clinical and non-clinical aspects of neuroscience of subjects associated with different form of cognitive loading including conflicts, depression and neurodegeneraive disorders.

Research at ONLAB is supported by various National grants including Department of Science and Technology (DST), Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and DST-Technology Development Board.

Vision

To promote desirable research outcomes which can bring harmony among wide spectrum of society by means of point-of-care devices, organoids supplements and greater cognitive resources for healthy neural activities to ensure proper socio-economic balances in larger society.

Mission

To offer first in-kind technology ensuring healthcare facilities for all in any developing and under developed countries.

To offer first in-kind technology to bring global harmony among different varieties of population by enhancing population-cognitive factors, thereby formulating healthy governing policies.

To offer first in-kind technology of reverse-ageing for the mankind.
